Having graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 2001 with a BSc in Podiatry, Alastair has gone onto work in various specialist roles within the NHS including Biomechanics and Orthopaedics. He has worked in the private sector since 2005 and has a keen interest in gait analysis, musculoskeletal injuries and orthopaedic foot and ankle conditions. Alastair currently works within Edinburgh University's renowned FASIC sports medicine clinic, treating both elite and recreational athletes from a wide variety of sports and has previously held a clinical teaching position at Queen Margaret Universty. Alastair is committed to continued professional development as well as providing evidence based best practice. He has gained post graduate certificates in joint mobilisation techniques, steroid injection therapy and prescription only medicine. He is currently in his final year of studying towards an MSc in Podiatric Surgery at Queen Margaret University. Outside of work Alastair is a keen sportsman having played rugby for Heriot's FP and Perthshire RFC, he now enjoys cycling and golf. |
