Some people just love talking about running
Here's what it would be like if they spoke the same way doing every day things.
How to get rid of runners side stitch
One of the most irritating things runners get when they are out on their run is getting a stitch. I've put together my top 6 tips to avoid getting that dreaded side stitch.
1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Make sure you are well hydrated. Water or juice will suffice.
2. Don't over Indulge
Eating is good eating is important just try not to pig out before your run
3. Use The Bathroom
This is just common sense plus it eliminates any of bad stuff in you
4. Warm Up
A few minutes brisk walk or some light aerobic exercises will help greatly.
5. Massage
Gently massage the effected area to loosen things up a bit.
6. BREATHE
Try to regulate your breathing, have a conversation with your running buddy. If you can't or struggle then drop your pace down a bit. Running should be fun, don't let a stitch ruin it.
Top tip
This works every time for me. Take a large deep breath in and then exhale everything until there is no air left. Do this twice and your stitch will be gone. This method is by far the best i have tried. This is spot on, To high five or not?? Also i have the same logistic distance skills as the girl in the video. This is why the internet exists... to make us chuckle after we've come home from a hard run. images sourced from http://stickyelbows.blogspot.co.uk/ I've been mentioning this video a lot lately, I too know the pain and suffering of descending stairs after a half marathon and this video captures it perfectly. Remember folks after a big distance run you should warm down / stretch / ice bath or cold shower then compression wear for the fastest recovery. I had the pleasure of spending my weekend with some great folk who had some fantastic tattoos. It got me thinking about running tattoos... So i went looking for some. Turns out RunnersWorld.com already had an online article about this. Here's my favourite... Click on the image to see more |
