How to get rid of runners side stitch
One of the most irritating things runners get when they are out on their run is getting a stitch. I've put together my top 6 tips to avoid getting that dreaded side stitch.
1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Make sure you are well hydrated. Water or juice will suffice.
2. Don't over Indulge
Eating is good eating is important just try not to pig out before your run
3. Use The Bathroom
This is just common sense plus it eliminates any of bad stuff in you
4. Warm Up
A few minutes brisk walk or some light aerobic exercises will help greatly.
5. Massage
Gently massage the effected area to loosen things up a bit.
6. BREATHE
Try to regulate your breathing, have a conversation with your running buddy. If you can't or struggle then drop your pace down a bit. Running should be fun, don't let a stitch ruin it.
Top tip
This works every time for me. Take a large deep breath in and then exhale everything until there is no air left. Do this twice and your stitch will be gone. This method is by far the best i have tried. Yes there is more than one technique to lace your trainers It would be a rather great world if all shoes were like Marty McFly's famous Nike Air Mags Unfortunately we live in the real world where we simply have to tie our laces most days. Here's a video for a more detailed look video with tips and advice on how to lace up your running shoes. Here's what's on offer at Sweatshop Dundee Do you have a favourite?? Shoes featured are: Adidas Grete 30 Boost, Adidas Tempo Boost, Adidas Supernova Sequence Boost, Adidas Glide Boost 7, Adidas Adistar Boost ESM, Adidas Adistar Boost Glow. Where to run in Dundee for beginners? I see a lot of runners at all times of the day in Dundee and i know all to well how it feels to run alone. For me I had terrible anxiety about running alone, so i would go out at 5am or 1am so I wouldn't pass any people. The timings were ruining my body clock and i wasn't getting the best out of my runs. I Googled running in Dundee and read all about this amazing running group in Dundee that was more focused on the community spirit of things than competitive runs. The club meet up at the Sweatshop Store based in David Lloyd in Monifieth (click here for location). The club goes out 3 times a week.
The video below explains the Sweatshop Running Community better than i ever could. There is perks to running with the club... like Advice Drinks, T Shirts, Foam Rollers, Watches and Running Shoes, plus it's all FREE!! Now i work for the company that organises the runs and have met loads of new people i now class as friends. Visit the website to see more about the club (click on the logo) With my job and through this site, I get a chance to meet a lot of people who are new to running or about to take on their first ever running race. When they say how much of a struggle it was to get to that point or how hard the race was. I was tell them a similar message to the picture above. Is it a good idea? I'd have to say no, is it really worth risking months of not running if you slip or fall and hurt yourself. With a day pass as low as £5.99 at Pure Gym in Dundee and other gyms and classes modestly priced across Dundee. It would be a good time to take advantage of all their offers. Oh and here's what inspired this post... As I said in my last post DundeeRunners.co.uk now has a Pinterest board. To kick this off, I have some amazing winter running tips for you all. When you click on the picture you will be redirected to the DundeeRunners.co.uk Pinterest board with lots of hints and tips to help you out with your winter runs, jogs or walks.
